EUROPE SECTIONS: Mills continue push for higher prices [CORRECTED]

Hollow steel sections prices in Europe moved up this week, with mills pushing hard to achieve higher prices, market sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday September 30.

Fastmarkets' price assessment for steel sections (medium), domestic, delivered Northern Europe was ?,?580-590 ($679-690) per tonne on Wednesday, up from ?,?570-585 per tonne one week previous.
The price of HRC, the feedstock for sections, is now ?,?35-per-tonne higher than it was at the start of the month as a result of a lack of imports and poor availability of material due to production cuts.
