EUROPE SECTIONS: Mills to push for late-summer price rise on HRC costs, lack of imports

The Europe hollow steel sections market was quiet this week due to the traditional summer break, but participants said mills have already announced their intention to target higher prices when market activity resumes, Fastmarkets heard on Wednesday August 12.

Fastmarkets' price assessment for steel sections (medium), domestic, delivered Northern Europe was ?,?540-560 ($635-658) per tonne on Wednesday, unchanged week on week.
Prices in the south of Europe were similarly unchanged week on week. Fastmarkets' price assessment for steel sections (medium), domestic, delivered Southern Europe was ?,?560-570 per tonne on Wednesday.
