EUROPE SECTIONS: Prices stable but increases may come soon

Prices for hollow steel sections in Northern and Southern Europe were unchanged this week although some mills were offering higher prices on possible rises in feedstock costs, market sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday November 13.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel sections (medium), domestic, delivered Northern Europe, was ?,?560-580 ($617-639) per tonne on Wednesday, unchanged week on week.Producers of hot-rolled coil (HRC), the feedstock material for hollow sections production, have raised their offer prices in recent days due to production cuts by some companies, as well as last week's announcement by ArcelorMittal that it was pulling out of the deal to purchase Italian flat steel maker Ilva.ArcelorMittal's move followed a dispute with...
