EUROPE SECTIONS: Prices steady but producers still pushing for rises

Hollow steel sections prices in Europe were unchanged this week, despite producers still pushing for higher prices, market sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday September 23.

Fastmarkets' price assessment for steel sections (medium), domestic, delivered Northern Europe, was ?,?570-585 ($669-686) per tonne on Wednesday, unchanged week on week.
"New prices from some mills are up by ?,?30 per tonne, and [prices from] Italian mills are up by ?,?40-60 per tonne, depending on when material will be rolled. It's up by ?,?20-40 per tonne for October rolling, but November rolling is a ?,?60 per tonne increase," a distributor said.
