EUROPE STAINLESS STEEL: Flat product base prices weaken amid low stock prices

Base prices for flat stainless steel products in Europe fall by ?,?30 per tonne over the week ended Friday September 14, amid a stock sell-off ahead of an expected fall in the alloy surcharge for October deliveries.

Metal Bulletin's weekly domestic base price assessment for 2mm, grade-304 cold-rolled (CR) stainless steel sheet in Northern Europe was ?,?970-1,020 ($1,130-1,189) per tonne delivered on Friday, down from ?,?1,000-1,050 per tonne on September 7.At the same time, the weekly price assessment for grade-316 CR stainless steel bases prices in Europe fell by ?,?30 per tonne to ?,?1,270-1,320 per tonne...
