EUROPE WIRE ROD: Prices stable; gradual recovery expected

Prices for mesh-quality wire rod in Europe have remained stable over the past week, although market participants expected a gradual price recovery after recent falls, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday May 29.

Fastmarkets' assessment of the price of domestic mesh-quality wire rod in Southern Europe was ?,?500-520 ($559-581) per tonne delivered on May 29, unchanged from May 22, but down from $525-550 per tonne on May 8."The price is stable at the moment but we expect mesh-quality wire rod prices to rise in July, because the market has improved slightly.
