Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for
steel wire rod (mesh-quality), domestic, delivered Southern Europe increased to ?,?440-450 ($519-531) per tonne on August 26 from ?,?430-440 per tonne the week before.
In Italy, trading activity started to resume this week after a three-week long summer break.
Sources estimated the "workable" price for mesh-quality wire rod in Italy at ?,?435-440 per tonne delivered, up by ?,?5-10 per tonne compared to pre-holiday levels.
