Bunker Hill Mining Corp. reported that silver exploration efforts at the Bunker Hill Mine identified high-grade zinc mineralization that is expected to increase and expand the resource base calculation for the upcoming PEA.

Bunker Hill Mining Corp. (BNKR:CSE; BHLL:OTCMKTS) reported in a news release that it has "intercepted strong zinc mineralization over significant widths in the upper levels of the Bunker Hill Mine." The firm stated that hole 7055 intersected these high-grade zinc intercepts above the base water level and that the area where they were discovered is located very near to existing infrastructure. Bunker Hill Mining pointed out that these newly found intercepts lie outside the current resource boundary and therefore are expected to increase and expand the resource base calculation for the Bunker Hill Mine's preliminary economic assessment (PEA), which is scheduled for completion in early Q2/21.

The company listed that assay results from hole 7055 returned 2.4 meters of 16.9% zinc, 38.4 g/t silver and 2.8% lead, representing 20.2% zinc equivalent. An additional, larger intercept in the same drill hole starting at a depth of 25.3 meters delivered 19.2 m of 3.5% zinc, 21.3 g/t silver and 1.6% lead, representing 5.3% zinc equivalent.

Bunker Hill Mining's CEO Sam Ash commented, "We are encouraged by the continued progress of our drill program, and in particular this shallow, high-grade result which will support the PEA we are completing. Our strategy is yielding results, with a dual focus on rapidly restarting the Bunker Hill Mine while concurrently exploring its significant high grade silver potential. Over the coming weeks we look forward to publishing further drill results in this regard."

The company advised that the remainder of its 2021 drill program will be concentrated on exploration of high-grade silver targets in the mine's upper levels. The firm noted that it has already completed drilling the targets identified in its campaign designed to propel a rapid and phased restart of the mine, which it noted would be included in the upcoming PEA.

Bunker Hill Mining indicated that its 2021 drilling program calls for drilling a total of 10,000-12,000 meters. The company stated that the planned target areas have been selected based upon data compiled from a recently commissioned 3D geologic model that integrates 95 years worth of collected historical mine data. The firm added that the cumulative data was composed of more than 180,000 meters of drilling across 3,500 previously drilled holes. Those results in turn were then analyzed in comparison with hundreds of detailed historical mine geology maps.

The firm indicated that it owns an option which provides it with the rights to acquire 100% of all saleable assets at the Bunker Hill Mine.
