FAZ: Germany Tightens Silver Coins Tax

LONDON, 4 October 2022 - Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the 3rd best-selling daily paper in Germany, today quotes BullionVault analysis and comment in a report on changing tax treatment of silver coins in the Eurozone's largest economy.

"The Treasury wants to ban the use of differential taxation for silver coins minted in non-EU countries," says the report.

Held VAT-free in London, stockpiles of large silver bars have been declining in 2022, BullionVault notes, driven by "rising demand for silver as an industrial metal and for small bars and coins sold to retail investors."
