Ferroglobe will restructure its ferro-alloys production plants in France and Spain, which will affect manganese alloys, silicon and foundry alloys output near term, the company told Fastmarkets.

Spain-based Ferroglobe has the production capacity for more than one million tonnes per year of ferro-alloys, such as manganese alloys, ferro-silicon, ferro-silicon magnesium, as well as foundry alloys such as inoculants across its worldwide operations.
Ferro-globe has a total installed power of near 1,500 megawatts (MW) so is a major producer of silicon metal, accounting for 14% of global production capacity
European manganese alloys prices have jumped over 2021 amid strengthening demand and producer discipline, container shortages and higher freight rates all limiting supply.
European silico-manganese and high-carbon ferro-manganese prices are up by about 33% and 22%, respectively, this year.
Fastmarkets assessment of silico-manganese lumpy 65-75% Mn, basis 15-19% Si (scale pro rata), major European destinations was at ?,?1,180-1,230 per tonne on April 23, compared to ?,?880-920 per tonne at the start of January.

Fastmarkets' ferro-manganese basis 78% Mn max, standard 7.5% C, delivered Europe at ?,?1,170-1,230...
