Final Week of February Brings Fresh Round of Earnings, GDP Data

Earnings IIIEarnings season will end with a bang, as several retailers to report

The final week of February will be a busy one. Investors will be sifting through a deluge of economic data, while earnings season is set to go out with a bang. In the forefront will be gross domestic product data for the fourth quarter, as well as a slew of home sales figures and consumer spending. As for earnings, the single blue chip making an appearance will be Home Depot (HD), while investor attention will also be placed on several retail and e-tail names including Etsy (ETSY), Lowe's (LOW), L Brands (LB), and Macy's (M). Eyes will undoubtedly be on buzzy space stock Virgin Galactic (SPCE) during its quarterly report next Tuesday, too.

Below is a brief list of some key market events and a few high-profile earnings releases scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings and economic dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

The week will open on Monday, Feb. 24, with the Chicago Fed national activity index, while HP (HPQ), Intuit (INTU), Keysight (KEYS), and Shake Shack enter the earnings confessional.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, will bring the Case-Shiller home price index, the FHFA home price index and the consumer confidence index. On the earnings docket will be Home Depot, Caesars Entertainment (CZR), Macy's, Salesforce (CRM), Toll Brothers (TOL) and Virgin Galactic.

New home sales are on the schedule for Wednesday, Feb. 26, as well as quarterly reports from Etsy, L Brands, Lowe's, Monster Beverage (MNST), Papa John's (PZZA), and SeaWorld Entertainment (SEAS).

Wall Street will sift through weekly jobless claims, gross domestic product (GDP) data, durable goods orders, and core capital orders on Thursday, Feb. 27. Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD), Beyond Meat (BYND), Cronos Group (CRON), JD.com (JD), and Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) will all throw their hats into the earnings ring.

The packed week will close out with a just as busy Friday, Feb. 28, as traders digest data on personal income, consumer spending and core inflation, the Chicago Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), and the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index. Foot Locker (FL) and Wayfair (W) will report earnings.
