SHANGHAI, Feb 8 (SMM) – China imported 443,000 mt of unwrought copper and copper-fabricated products in January, up 16.1% from the same month last year, according to customs data.

However, this was down from 450,000 mt in December 2017, marking a decline for two consecutive months. This is due to limited construction activities in the winter season as well as a high output rate at home.

Separately, China imported 1.62 million mt of copper ore last month, up 24.9% year on year. This compared with 1.65 million mt recorded in December 2017.
