FOCUS: Chinese HRC export price dip to have minor impact on Turkey, CIS markets - sources

Recent weakness in Chinese export hot-rolled coil prices are likely to have minimal impact on prices in Turkey and the Commonwealth of Independent States - major flat steel suppliers - at least in the short term, sources told Fastmarkets.

Existing demand at key outlets and long lead times will prevent prices from following the Chinese export price in the near term, Fastmarkets has learned. 
Domestic and export flat steel prices mostly increased in Turkey during the week ended Friday May 28.
Meanwhile, Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled coil, export, fob Black Sea, CIS was $1,035-1,065 per tonne on June 1, down from $1,085-1,125 per tonne a week earlier and falling for the first time since mid-February, when the recent uptrend started.
