Ford to suspend output in Brazil, Argentina from next week amid coronavirus pandemic

Ford Motor Co has decided to temporarily halt production at its sites in Brazil and Argentina from next week due to the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak, the company said on Thursday March 19.

The move aims to "keep employees safe and help limit the spread of the virus, as well to adjust the production volumes to the lower consumer demand due to this unprecedented situation", the company added.
Ford's Brazilian manufacturing facilities - in the northeastern states of Bahia and Cear?? as well as the south-eastern state of S??o Paulo - will halt activities on March 23, with the US automaker planning to resume operations on April 13.
