Frederick Goldman Acquires Lab-Grown Brand

RAPAPORT... Jewelry manufacturer Frederick Goldman has purchasedlab-grown-jewelry brand Love Earth to accelerate its entry into the synthetic-diamondbusiness. "The market for lab-grown diamonds is expanding rapidly,"Frederick Goldman CEO Jonathan Goldman said last week. "We have spent the pastyear studying how we would enter this business. Our purchase of the Love Earthbrand has expedited those plans." The industry needs to find new and innovative ways to appealto consumers in order to compete, Goldman added. The brand includes bridal and fashion pieces. Frederick Goldman has built a new manufacturing facility exclusivelyfor its synthetic-diamond jewelry, it said. Dan Schneider, the founder of Love Earth and a formerdirector at jewelry manufacturer Stuller, has joined Frederick Goldman as vicepresident of sales.
