Freeport's Cerro Verde copper mine in Peru closed on coronavirus protection

Cerro Verde, the world's fourth-largest copper mine in output, will suspend operations and enter a 15-day care and maintenance period following the Peruvian government declaring a national state of emergency, owner and operator Freeport McMoRan said on Tuesday March 17.
