RAPAPORT... Garrard has expanded its Chinese presence with a new boutique in Beijing, theLondon-based luxury jeweler said last week. The 100-square-meter boutique - located in the Emperor GroupCentre -will comprise three VIP rooms, and will focus on high jewelry and bespokecommissions, the jeweler said. To celebrate the launch, Garrard - the former British crownjeweler - will showcase pieces with historical significance, including the 118.88-caratGarrard Jubilee Sapphire, as well as the White Rose necklace. "It's been a pleasure creating jewels for customers in Chinasince we opened our Shanghai flagship last year," said Sara Prentice, Garrard'screative director. "Now with a presence in Beijing we're in an even betterposition to explore how our heritage and craftsmanship can come to life for thesophisticated women who want to wear our designs."
