GILC to Discuss Crucial Issues of Color and Gem Origin Descriptions in Tucson

(IDEX Online) - The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) has announced that the ICA-organized Gemstone Industry & Laboratory Conference (GILC) will be holding a discussion on color nomenclature and origin on January 29 at the Tucson Gem Show.

 

After an introduction by newly elected ICA President, Clement Sabbagh, the main topics of discussion will center on color nomenclature and origin, including the following:

 

The validity and necessity of terms such as Pigeon Blood, Royal Blue, etc. Validity and necessity for African Paraiba tourmaline. Update on the nomenclature for Australian opal.

 

The session will be moderated by ICA board member and Secretary Bruce Bridges, and will include short contributions by:
