The price of antimony in China stalled in the latest assessment period ended on Wednesday April 17, with the country's suppliers holding offers relatively firm as consumer enthusiasm in restocking waned.
Fastmarkets' price assessment for MMTA standard-grade II antimony, delivered duty-paid in China, was assessed at 44,000-45,000 yuan ($6,573-6,722) per tonne on Wednesday, flat week on week.The Chinese domestic antimony price failed to find continued support from the production halts in Lengshujiang city, in the central province of Hunan - a major antimony production hub in China. The failure by producers to push through higher prices was put down to domestic antimony consumers being unwilling to accept high charges after coming to realize that they could still source sufficient material even with the production reductions in place in Lengshuijiang."We only bought dozens of tonnes [of antimony] this week because we still have some stocks, and what's more, we do not think the price will move...
