GLOBAL ANTIMONY WRAP: Market slows down ahead of Lunar New Year

The global antimony market was quiet in the week ended Friday February 1 with trading slowing down ahead of the Lunar New Year.

Chinese market participants will be largely absent from the market for a week dated February 4-10 for the annual celebration. In Europe, Fastmarkets' price assessment for trioxide-grade antimony, in-warehouse Rotterdam, was stable week on week at $7,800-8,000 per tonne on Friday. The price for MMTA standard-grade II antimony, in-warehouse Rotterdam, was also unchanged last week at $7,700-7,900 per tonne. In China, Fastmarkets' price assessment for MMTA standard-grade II antimony, delivered duty-paid, stood at 48,500-49,500 yuan ($7,191-7,339) per tonne on Wednesday January 30, flat week on week.
