GLOBAL FERRO-SILICON WRAP: Chinese prices decline on waning demand; Europe follows Asia prices down

The Chinese ferro-silicon market started to decline in the week ended Friday December 21, with market participants holding a bearish outlook due to slow demand, while the European price begins to slide, tracking the Chinese market down.

Domestic Chinese ferro-silicon trading started to slide this week on weak demand, market participants said. Fastmarkets MB Chinese ferro-silicon ex-works price, basis 75% Si tumbled by 200 yuan per tonne to 7,000-7,200 ($1,013.83-1,042.80) yuan per tonne on Friday December 21."Orders have begun falling, which was to be expected because steel mills don't have that much need right now," a major producer said.Demand looks to remain lackluster until the end of December and into the beginning of January due to slow trading, market...
