GLOBAL NICKEL WRAP: US briquette premium falls for third straight week; European trading quiet

Nickel premiums worldwide were predominantly lower during the week ending on June 5, with heightened trade tensions pushing nickel briquette premiums in the United States down for the third consecutive week.

European nickel premiums held steady while market participants gathered at Fastmarkets' 7th International Nickel Conference in Amsterdam. US briquette premiums weaken Import window in China closedEuropean premiums stable with Fastmarkets' conference taking place Briquettes weaken further in US Nickel briquette premiums declined for the third week in a row, although 4x4 cut cathodes premiums held strong in US spot trade. Fastmarkets' price assessment of the premium for US nickel briquette, delivered consumer works, was $0.20-0.25 per lb on Tuesday June 4, down three cents on the low end and two cents on the high from $0.23-0.27 per lb on Tuesday May 28 last week. Fastmarkets' assessment of the premium for US nickel 4x4 cut-cathode, delivered consumer works, remained at $0.37-0.45 per lb on June 4, flat week on week....
