The Metals:

Gold gained $9.40 to $1330.70 in London before it fell back to $1322.90 in early New York trade, but it then rallied back higher into the close and ended with a gain of 0.61%. Silver rose to as high as $16.683 and ended with a gain of 0.3%.

Euro gold rose to about EUR1076, platinum gained $4 to $972, and copper climbed 8 cents to about $3.17.

Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended mixed.

The Markets:

Oil edged lower on concerns about growing output from non-OPEC producers.

The U.S. dollar index fell and treasuries rose while the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P erased early losses and ended higher ahead of tomorrow's inflation data.

Among the big names making news in the market today were Under Armour, Bitcoin, Google, Broadcom, Walgreens, PepsiCo, and Caterpillar.
