Gold Seeker Weekly Wrap-Up: Gold and Silver Fall Almost 1% and 2% on the Week

The Metals:

Gold saw slight losses in Asia, but it then climbed steadily higher in London and New York and ended near its session high of $1232.10 with a gain of 0.65%. Silver rose to as high as $15.536 and ended with a gain of 1.24%.

Euro gold dropped under EUR1050, platinum gained $21.50 to $826, and copper jumped 5 cents to about $2.75.

Gold and silver equities rose over 1% at the open before they drifted back lower at times, but they still ended with decent gains on the day.

Next week's economic highlights include Existing home sales on Monday, Markit data on Tuesday, New home sales on Wednesday, Weekly jobless claims, Durable goods orders, and Advance trade in goods on Thursday, and GDP and Consumer sentiment on Friday.

The Markets:

Oil rose over 1% as the U.S. dollar index fell along with treasuries on concerns about trade conflicts that held the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P near unchanged.

Among the big names making news in the market Friday were Netflix, State Street, JetBlue, Microsoft, and GE.
