Gold, Silver Prices Push To Daily Highs

(Kitco News) - Gold pricesare posting modest gains, while silver prices are solidlyhigher and near the recent four-week high, in morning dealings Friday. Bothmetals were trading not far from unchanged levels at the opening of U.S.futures trading. Short covering and some bargain buying heading into theweekend are featured. Also, the last trading day of the month and of thequarter today are prompting some of the short-covering buying interest fromlarger traders and funds. December gold was last up $2.20 at $1,189.60 and December silver was up $0.26 at $14.55.
