Canadian golds were strong today, led by Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM), which added $2.79 to $60.57 on 2.26 million shares. Klondex Mines Ltd. (KDX) was one of the weaker sisters. It fell six cents to $2.83 on 1.06 million shares.
Ryan Beedie and Steven Dean's Atlantic Gold Corp. (AGB), up 11 cents to $1.80 on 1.25 million shares, has received assays of up to 21.9 grams of gold per tonne over 20 metres from the Egerton-MacLean zone at its Fifteen Mile Stream gold project in Nova Scotia. The assays are from another 12 holes completed at the Egerton-MacLean zone, 15 holes drilled at the nearby Plenty zone and another nine that tested the 350-metre gap between the two areas. Plenty produced a few promotable hits as well, including a three-metre interval that averaged 52.9 grams of gold per tonne and a five-metre interval that averaged 4.6 grams per tonne. The gap zone also produced gold, but the intervals were generally modest, as were the grades: The best hits were a one-metre zone that averaged 11.7 grams per tonne and a six-metre interval that averaged 1.11 grams per tonne.
