GULF FLAT STEEL IMPORTS: CRC, HDG prices change; HRC prices mostly stable

Hot-rolled coil import prices to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia were mostly stable during the week to Tuesday June 8, but cold-rolled coil prices decreased and the hot-dipped galvanized coil import price spreads to the UAE widened, sources told Fastmarkets.

The main reason for the decrease in CRC prices was low prices from China, market participants said.
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil export, fob China main port was $900-921 per tonne on June 8, falling from $915-925 per tonne on June 1.
Saudi Arabia
Hot-rolled coil was heard offered at $1,000-1,005 per tonne cfr from China, which is not too dissimilar to the offer prices at $1,000 per tonne cfr the week previous.
