GULF FLAT STEEL IMPORTS: Decreasing prices keep buyers cautious

The downturn in prices for flat steel imports to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia has made buyers refrain from bookings because of their uncertainty about the market during the week ending Tuesday September 7, sources told Fastmarkets.

Buyers wanted to see prices hit a market bottom before placing more orders.
Saudi Arabia
China was offering hot-rolled coil at $1,020-1,040 per tonne cfr Saudi Arabia, a price unchanged for the past three weeks.
And India was offering HRC at $950 per tonne cfr, down from offers at $980-1,000 per tonne cfr last week.

No new prices were heard from Taiwan, but one buyer estimated the workable price for Taiwanese...
