GULF FLAT STEEL IMPORTS: Some prices decrease, buyers hesitant to book

Some flat steel import prices to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia fell during the week ended Tuesday September 14 so buyers held back from activity and preferred to wait for prices to flatten, sources told Fastmarkets.

End-user demand was weak so buyers did not place any big orders despite their low stock levels.
Saudi Arabia
China offered HRC at $970 per tonne cfr Saudi Arabia, falling from offers at $1,020-1,040 per tonne cfr last week.
One buyer bid $940-950 per tonne cfr for Chinese HRC.

India offered hot-rolled coil at $980-1,000 per tonne cfr, up from last week offers of $950 per tonne...
