GULF STEEL BILLET, REBAR: Billet prices up but demand still low

Prices for imported billet in the United Arab Emirates have increased over the past seven days, but demand was still weak, sources said on Tuesday July 9.

The reason for the higher prices for billet was increases in the prices for raw materials.Fastmarkets' daily index for steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix), North Europe origin, cfr Turkey, was calculated at $296.41 per tonne on July 8, compared with $294.46 per tonne cfr on July 2.
