GULF STEEL BILLET, REBAR: Prices dip in the first week of Ramadan

The prices for steel billet and rebar in the United Arab Emirates fell over the past week due to weak demand during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, as well as the continued effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, market sources said on Tuesday April 28.

Authorities in the UAE announced a curfew from 10pm to 6am for the month of Ramadan, which started on April 23. Traditionally consumption of steel products is lower during this period due to workers observing Ramadan.
Domestic rebar producers in the UAE have kept their prices unchanged for orders to be delivered in May.
