(IDEX Online) - Iconic jeweler Harry Winston has been displaying the record-breaking vivid pink diamond named after its founder at its New York store - and says it is accepting sales inquiries.The 18.96-carat rectangular-cut gem became the priciest pink diamond ever sold by auction house Christie's when it went for $50.4im n November 2018. The Pink Legacy Diamond went on display for four days only last week to mark what would have been Winston's 125th birthday. He died in 1978.The original "King of Diamonds" acquired some of the world's most famous diamonds, including the Jonker Diamond, the Indore Pears and the Hope Diamond.The Pink Legacy Diamond, originally owned by De Beers' owners, the Oppenheimer family, was set in an 18-karat rose gold and platinum ring, flanked by two shield-cut diamonds weighing 3.55 carats.
