High-Profile Watch and Jewelry Names Join Movement for Change

(IDEX Online) - The Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030, founded a year ago as a movement for positive change in the industry has announced a raft of new members.Luxury watchmakers A. Lange & S?? ?hne, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-Lecoultre, Panerai and Piaget, as well as Dimexon, Mattioli, Pandora and Rubel & M?? (C)nasch?? (C), have all signed up.They join existing members Cartier, Kering (Boucheron, Gucci Watches, Pomellato, Dodo, Qeelin), Chanel Horlogerie Joaillerie, Montblanc, Rosy Blue and Swarovski.The Geneva-based Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030, established by Cartier and Kering, focuses on building climate resilience, preserving resources and fostering inclusiveness.Iris Van der Veken, executive director and secretary general, welcomed the "llustrious group of brand", saying it "underscores the importance of collaborative initiatives in our industry".The group  - open to all watch and jewelry players with a national or international footprint -believes the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aspirations for a sustainable industry can only be achieved through collaborative initiatives.The key areas it addresses are building climate resilience, preserving resources, and fostering inclusiveness.File pic shows Marie-Claire Daveu (chief sustainability officer and head of international institutional affairs, Kering) and Cyrille Vigneron (President & CEO, Cartier) signing the founding documents of the Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030.
