Next week, ten thousands of international gem and jewelry industry buyers will touch down in Hong Kong to take part in the sixth Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, opening on February 26, and two days later in the 36th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show.
Both exhibitions are organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The sixth HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will take place at AsiaWorld-Expo, while the 36th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, which focusses on fine jewelry, will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai.
The HKTDC, a government-owned organization, can take credit for having launched Hong Kong as the ultimate hub where the gem and jewelry industry meets and does business several times a year. Since it organized its first jewelry fair 36 years ago, other organizers have followed in its footsteps to establish Hong Kong's hegemony in this particular realm.
This year, the two shows will feature a record of more than 4,600 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions, once again forming the world's largest jewelry marketplace.
