A worker employed by a service provider was fatally injured from a fall while working at height.

Underground mining had been suspended while an investigation was completed.

"Hoisting activities resumed on June 23 and production has since returned to normal levels," Hudbay said last week.

It did not mention any impact on production guidance.

Its Manitoba operations, comprising Lalor and 777, were expected to produce 96,000-107,000 tonnes of zinc, 150,000-165,000 ounces of gold, 20,000-24,000t of copper and 1.2-1.4 million ounces of silver this year.

The company also has the Constancia copper operation in Peru and earlier-stage copper projects in the US.

Hudbay shares (TSX: HBM), which have ranged from C$3.72-$11.62 over the past year, closed up almost 2% on Friday to $8.25, valuing it more than $2.1 billion (US$1.7 billion).
