IAMGOLD says all Essakane personnel returned safe following 'security incident'

(Kitco News) - Today, IAMGOLD (TSX: IMG)(NYSE: IAG) reported that the two individuals who were unaccounted forfollowing the security incident in Burkina Faso reported on October 29, 2021,have been safely located.

"The incident is nowresolved, with all employees and contractors involved in the incident accountedfor and safe. The Essakane mine site remains secured and our operations are notaffected. At this time, the company does not expect a negative material impacton production," the company said in a statement.

IAMGOLD added that it remainsstrongly committed to ensuring the health, safety and security of personnel andoperations, and that the company continues to monitor and assess the securitysituation and make appropriate precautionary adaptations.

The company also noted it isoffering support to the personnel involved, colleagues and families andcontinues to engage with the relevant authorities and other partners in BurkinaFaso in connection with security in the region around Essakane and its routes.

IAMGOLD is a mid-tier goldmining company operating in three regions globally: North America, SouthAmerica and West Africa. The company's operating mines include Essakane inBurkina Faso, Rosebel (including Saramacca) in Suriname and Westwood in Canada.
