India Aims to Promote Its Jewelry in UAE

RAPAPORT... Two Indian trade groups have agreed to promote the country'sjewelry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) andthe Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India (MMTC) have entered apartnership aimed at stimulating interest in Brand India in the Gulf country,the GJEPC said Wednesday. GJEPC chairman Pramod Agrawal met with Ved Prakash, hiscounterpart at the MMTC, in Jaipur to discuss ways of boosting India's gem and jewelryexports. The GJEPC will also help the MMTC set up a private bonded warehousingzone within the Jaipur special economic zone (SEZ), a business hub containing industrialparks, retail and social infrastructure.
