INDIA IMPORT SCRAP: Prices continue to fall but may recover after election

The price of shredded ferrous scrap imported into India fell again this week after deals were agreed at lower prices, market sources told Fastmarkets on Friday May 17.

Fastmarkets' weekly index for containerized imports of shredded scrap into India went down by $5.24 per tonne to $319.79 per tonne cfr Nhava Sheva on Friday, from $325.03 per tonne cfr Nhava Sheva on May 10.Prices for shredded material continued to fall, with prices last week coming down by $6.56 per tonne.Deals heard in the market for shredded material ranged from $316 to $325 per tonne cfr, down...
