India's GJEPC Hires Marketing Chief

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) hasrecruited Ruchita Sharma as executive director for promotions, marketing andbusiness development, the Indian trade organization said Tuesday.Sharma, an experienced luxury marketer and executive, willalso be responsible for national and international events, logistics andinternational ventures, the GJEPC added. She has been in marketing andcommunications for more than 20 years, having previously worked with brandssuch as Swarovski and Salvatore Ferragamo. "Over the years, GJEPC has done an excellent job to takethis industry to the current stature that it enjoys today," Sharma said. "Ourfocus would be to give maximum mileage by enhancing our reach in the existingmarkets and tapping new ones, thus furthering the growth of [the] industry."
