INDIA STEEL SCRAP: Market firms on higher offers but few deals concluded

The price of containerized ferrous scrap imports into India inched up again this week, despite many market participants still unable to secure deals, sources told Fastmarkets on Friday June 12.

Fastmarkets calculated the steel scrap, shredded, index, import, cfr Nhava Sheva, India at $285.89 per tonne on Friday, up from $278.58 per tonne one week previous.
Market sources reported offers for shredded material at $285-290 per tonne, up from $280-285 per tonne last week, however no deals were heard this week.

Inquiries and offers continue grow in frequency but there has not yet been a surge of purchases. Market sources told Fastmarkets they expect this in the coming...
