Inflation Data, Earnings Stragglers on Deck

Traders Outside of New York Stock ExchangeBroadcom, Adobe, Gap, and Ulta will step into the earnings confessional

The earnings calendar is starting to thin out, but next week still has a lot for investors to look forward to. There's the latest inflation data to unpack, as well as the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index at the end of the week. Of the companies that do report earnings, Apple supplier Broadcom (AVGO), Adobe Systems (ADBE),Gap (GPS), and Ulta Beauty (ULTA) are the notable names.

Below is a brief list of some key market events and a few high-profile earnings releases scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings and economic dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

On Monday, March. 9, the week will start off slow, with little to be found in terms of economic data. PaySign (PAYS) and Stitch Fix (SFIX) will report earnings.

The NFIB small business optimism index is due out on Tuesday, March 10, along with an earnings report from Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS).

Wednesday, March 11, will bring last month's core consumer price index (CPI) and Federal budget data. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries' (OPEC) will also release its monthly report. On the earnings docket are reports from Pinduoduo (PDD) and United Natural Foods (UNFI).

Thursday, March 12, will deliver weekly jobless claims and the producer price index (PPI). ADBE, AVGO, Dollar General (DG), GPS, Jabil (JBL), Oracle (ORCL), Slack Technologies (WORK), ULTA, and Wheaton Precious Metals (WPM) will all step into the earnings confessional.

The end of the week wraps with import/export prices and the consumer sentiment survey on Friday, March 13. There are no earnings to report.
