INTL AL CONF: EGA looks to expand sustainable aluminium production

Aluminium producer Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) plans to expand its production of sustainable aluminium, according to Salman Abdulla, executive vice president of health, safety, sustainability, environment, fire and rescue, quality, and business transformation.

The company said in February that it would supply 43,000 tonnes per year of CelestiAL aluminium to BMW Group. EGA has supplied metal to BMW since 2013 for use in the German automaker's engines and other parts.

"We now have plans to expand the capability and produce even more [of] what we call the CelestiAl metal," Abdulla said during an executive panel...
