Iran export billet, slab prices hit 29-month highs

Iran's export prices for steel billet and slab continued their uptrends in the week to Wednesday December 9, boosted by global price rises for steel products and raw material costs.

Both prices have hit their highest point since July 2018, having risen sharply in recent weeks.
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel billet, export, fob ports Iran was $490-500 per tonne on December 9, rising from $470-490 per tonne on December 2. The assessment stood at $407-411 per tonne at the start of November.
