The controversial Adani Carmichael coal mine and the future of coal in Australia threatens to make or break the political aspirations of many across the Eastern seaboard. An anti-Adani convoy led by former Greens leader Bob Brown headed to Queensland protesting against coal mining in the Galilee basin. In Central Queensland, in areas such as Rockhampton and Emerald, many locals are looking to the job opportunities of the new mining region. But there remains mixed opinions in the community with concerns about the impacts of fossil fuels on climate change.
