Natural Sound Three men accused of conspiring to kill Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin have appeared in Tel Aviv's district court.Suspects Yigal Amir -the self-confessed killer of Rabin - his brother Hagai Amir and Dror Adani are also accused of conspiracy to attack Arabs.If convicted, the three face hefty prison sentences.Security was tight around Tel Aviv's district court as the three men arrived.Yigal Amir - the self-confessed assassin of Rabin - was the first of the suspects to enter the courtroom. He smiled throughout the hearing, and occasionally waved to friends.Yigal Amir's brother, Hagai Amir, and Dror Adani entered the courtroom together. Like Yigal Amir, they are charged with conspiracy to kill Rabin, and conspiracy to attack Arabs, as well as several weapons charges.Yigal and Hagai Amir's parents listened as a defense lawyer charged that a prominent Israeli politician tried to help Yigal obtain rabbinical approval for the murder.However, the attorney did not name the politician.Hagai Amir and Dror Adani had hoped to leave the courtroom, if not free men, at least under house arrest.But the three-judge panel turned down that request, and all three men were returned to their jail cells.Yigal Amir's trial is scheduled to start January 23rd.The court postponed the trial of Hagai Amir and Dror Adani until April 17.You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/you...
