English/NatYitzhak Rabin's convicted assassin Yigal Amir appeared in court Thursday to have an extra five years added to his life sentence after being convicted of conspiring to attack Palestinians.Amir declared to a packed courtroom his only regret was that he did not kill the prime minister earlier, because he believes it would have prevented last week's deadly violence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.Smiling and looking relaxed Amir was in court with his brother Hagai Amir and a friend Dror Adani who were convicted of conspiring to kill Rabin and also guilty of weapons charges.The courtroom was packed in Tel Aviv's District Court, as people squeezed in to the room for the sentencing of Yitzhak Rabin's assassin Yigal Amir, his brother and another accomplice, Dror Adani.Although Yigal Amir is already serving a life sentence for the murder he was back in court for sentencing on a different charge of conspiring to attack Palestinians as well.He was convicted last month, along with his brother Hagai and a friend, Dror Adani.Yigal Amir looked comfortable and relaxed he sat with his brother Hagai Amir and Dror Adani, a friend who have been convicted of conspiring to kill Rabin and also on weapons charges.None of them appeared to have any regrets and Yigal Amir declared to a packed room he was "proud of everything" and "would do it again."Yigal Amir, who had faced a maximum sentence of 39 years on the conspiracy charges, was ordered to serve an extra five years after completing his life plus six-years sentence for killing Rabin.Hagai Amir, who had faced a possible 78 years in prison, was sentenced to 12 years, and Adani, who had faced up to 29 years, was sentenced to seven.After the sentencing, Yigal and Hagai's father, Shlomo Amir, in the courthouse betrayed little emotion over his sons prison terms.The assistant to Hagai Amir's lawyer said he felt the sentences could have been more severe.
