(IDEX Online) - Belgian tech firm iTraceiT says it has completed the pilot phase of its new traceability solution and is now rolling it out to customers.The company says its combination of QR-code and blockchain technology can handle all sizes of diamonds, even melee (under 0.2-cts) - unlike other solutions.It also claims to offer a "genuine industry-wide solution" because it's an independent third-party provider. "Our traceability is not tied to any producer, sightholder or industry organization. This puts us in a unique position," it says.Every rough stone, regardless of size or quality, is assigned a QR code by iTraceiT that records all processes performed on it along the pipeline from mine to finger."We have built our solution in such a way that it is fully automatable with any inventory management systems that our customers use, including those from our industry's main service providers as well as proprietary ones," said CEO Frederik Degryse.
