(IDEX Online) - JCK Las Vegas, the biggest jewelry show in North America, is to go ahead as scheduled, say organizers.
The announcement follows a series of cancelations in Hong Kong because of coronavirus, and the news last week that Baselword will not take place this year.
JCK Las Vegas attracts over 30,000 of the world's most influential industry professionals, almost a quarter of them from overseas.
The 2020 event takes place from 2 to 5 June at the Sands Expo & Convention Center and Venetian Hotel. Sister event Luxury 2020 is also going ahead as planned, at the same venue from 31 May to 5 June.
Sarin Bachmann, group vice president of JCK, said they were working closely with the venue, hotel, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and and Southern Nevada Health District in the light of the coronavirus outbreak.
"The jewelry industry is a tight-knit community, and the well-being of everyone at our JCK Events - from our attendees and exhibitors to our staff on-site at every show - is of the utmost importance to us," he said.
"We will continue to be proactive and take necessary precautions to facilitate an environment for the entire jewelry community to unite, make meaningful new connections, and discover new products and technology."
