Christmas was not white enough for jewelry buyers in NewHampshire, after a local retailer had promised to refund in-store purchases ifenough snow fell.Springer's Jewelers said it would return up to $10,000 toanyone who bought products between November 24 and December 9, as long as itsnowed at least 6 inches outside its Portsmouth store on December 25. But with only 4.3 inches falling, accordingto official snowfall authority Weather Analytics, the payouts never came. "Nobody was more excited than the Springer's team thatour 11th year of Let It Snow might be the one," the jeweler said in a statementon its website about the long-running program. "First, we'd like to thank our incredible customers whoallow us to have this much fun every winter, and who invite us to share in life'smost special moments year-round. Next, we'd like to thank everyone who hasjoined in the excitement over the past week - sharing predictions, crossingtheir fingers, and refreshing the weather forecast alongside us," Springersadded.
