(IDEX Online) - The organizers of the Jewelry Industry Summit have published the agenda and speaker roster for the upcoming Jewelry Industry Summit taking place in Tucson, Feb, 2-3.
An international array of expert and experienced industry members will share their ideas and recommendations for actions that jewelers can take now to sustain the supply chain for jewelry products, the group said in a statement.
Topics include panels on engagement by small jewelry businesses on responsible sourcing, information on the impact of blockchain technology on responsible practices, initiatives addressing mining of fair-trade gold and gems, and more. A highlight will be the showing of the film "River of Gold," a documentary film on the artisanal mining of gold in the Amazon. A panel discussion will follow the film will update the audience on actions currently being taken in the industry to address gold mining challenges. And, progress of various initiatives previously developed at Summits will be reported, and new initiatives will be discussed.
